Here’s an example of oil that thickens over time i Here’s an example of oil that thickens over time inside your forks. The old oil was from inside the damper unit of a KYB fork with 50 hours of use. It came in with complaints of a harsh feeling and weeping fork seals. As you can see, the oil no longer had its original viscosity and had turned very thick. The fork was serviced and ready to be returned to the customer all within a few days 🤩

Many had spent money on aftermarket exhausts, powerflow cages, and even upgraded ignitions, yet few serviced their suspension regularly. A fork and shock service isn’t just about fixing a leaking seal or addressing a fast shock—it’s essential to keep components working at 100%, ensuring the rider’s comfort, confidence, and safety. Over time, oil thickens, components collect dirt and grit, and they become damaged or sticky.
